Thanks to the commitment to RECICLOS, the Return and Reward System (RDS) developed by Ecoembes, UCM students will be able to obtain sustainable and social rewards by recycling their cans and plastic bottles in one of the seven machines installed at the University.
From 24 February – Students at the Complutense University of Madrid will get rewards every time they recycle their cans and plastic drinks bottles. This is possible thanks to the University’s commitment to RECICLOS, the Return and Reward System (RDS) developed by Ecoembes, the non-profit environmental organisation that coordinates packaging recycling throughout the country.
In this way, the Complutense becomes the first university in Madrid to have these machines, installing in this first pilot phase of the project a total of 7 in the Veterinary Hospital, the María Zambrano Library and the Faculties of Medicine, Information Sciences, Geological Sciences, Law and Computer Science.
To use the RECICLOS machines, all you have to do is register on the webapp (app.reciclos.com), deposit all the cans and plastic beverage bottles and scan the QR code displayed on the screen.
By doing so, the Complutense university community will obtain points, called RECICLOS, which can be invested in non-polluting and/or social activities, such as donations to the Food Bank or Aldeas Infantiles.
