On Monday 21 February, La Trasera of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Complutense University hosted the round table “House and Women”.
This conversation was approved by the Vice-Deanship of Culture of the Faculty of Fine Arts as a Complementary Activity, and organised in collaboration with the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza and the Department of History of Art.
The meeting addressed the different facets of artistic creation linked to the home and women, including visual art, teaching, research, museography and publishing. The aim is to explore the creative process around the house and women through reflection and practice, as a vehicle for social dialogue and a generator of equality. The round table is interdisciplinary “House and Woman” is interdisciplinary, bringing together: museum, university, research, teaching, artistic creation, etc.
This conference looks at family life from a gender perspective, reviewing recent articles on women published by the Academy of Fine Arts and discussing the relationship between feminism, the artist and the representation of the home.
