Exchange Program

If you are planning to apply for a place at the Complutense University  as an incoming exchange student, you must first contact the International Relations coordinator at your home university to discuss your plans with them. UCM can only accept incoming students who wish to study in subjects specified in bilateral agreements between universities. Check with the International Relations offices at your university to discover with which universities and which departments or faculties the university has signed cooperative agreements. UCM only admit exchange students approved by the International Relations Offices of its counterparts.

At the final stage of the Exchange Program, the Complutense University of Madrid will issue to students academic transcripts and students obtain credits of the course. Besides, students can choose to stay at the Complutense University of Madrid  in pursuit of a bachelor or master degree if conditions permit.

Spanish Language Courses in University of Complutense

The objective of the language courses is to make international students who is not a Spanish native speaker improve and increase their Spanish grammar and vocabulary learning skills in a specific communicative context. The courses also contain contents such as the Spanish culture and the Spanish literature for a purpose of helping students deep understand Spain in all aspects.

Advanced Culture Courses in Complutense Center for Spanish

Advanced Culture course: the Advanced Culture Program is designed for those students who are eager to learn more about Spanish cultural elements such as art, history, and literature etc. The course consists of both in-class and extra-curricular cultural activities instructed by excellent teachers in order to stimulate students' ideas and at the same time make their learning process easier.

Founded in 1989, the University of A Coruña is a modern, innovative and dynamic university. It has more than 20,000 students, 1400 teachers and 24 centers offering degrees in almost all discipline and levels including Health and Experimental Sciences, Humanities, Social and Juridical Sciences or Technologies and Engineering.

The Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), Campus of International Excellence, has been offering Spanish language courses for foreign students since 1928 in the Faculty of Philology at the Complutense Center for Spanish (CCEE). All teachers have rich experience in teaching Spanish as a foreign language.

The Complutense Center for Spanish is an official exam center for the Diplomas de Español Como Lengua Extranjera (DELE) and Servicio Internacional de Evaluación de la Lengua Española (SIELE). For this reason, the Complutense Center also offers intensive preparation courses.

University exchange program process for the academic year 2020-2021

  • Submission of the program application and in advance selection of the professional courses and cultural courses of the language centre for the exchange period.
  • Start of the Complutense University exchange study program (three exchange models for students due to the impact of the epidemic)

The teacher in charge of the program will arrange a reasonable exchange program for the students, according to their language level and future graduation plans.

The national University entrance examination program

Professional online course at the Complutense University from September to December 2020 + in-person Spanish course at the Complutense University from January to June 2021.

Online professional course part ( affected by the epidemic, students are taught in-country via the internet):

Complutense University’s four faculties of Literature and Philosophy, Business Management, Tourism and Trade, and Information Engineering have joined hands to provide students with high quality professional university programs. The University also offers a wide range of courses in English for students who do not have a basic knowledge of Spanish.

Course information: 2 hours/week, 30 hours in total (3 credits), official certificate of completion and credit from the Complutense University.

Online language course at Complutense University from October to December 2020 + in-person Spanish course at Complutense University from January to June 2021.

Online professional course part ( affected by the epidemic, students are taught in-country via the internet):

The Complutense Centre for the Teaching of Spanish offers quarterly online courses to provide a good language foundation for your subsequent language studies once you arrive in Spain.

Course information: 12 hours/week, 120 hours in total (12 credits), official certificate of completion and credit from the Complutense University.

In-person Spanish courses at the Complutense University from January to June of the 2021 academic year ( without online part)

Spanish in-person course part:

Compulsory: Spanish Language Course at the Complutense Centre for the Teaching of Spanish

Spanish Language Quarterly Course (200 hours)

Annual Spanish language course (600 hours)

Optional: Advanced Culture Course at the Language Centre of the University of Complutense

Optional: Complutense University Professional Course (if students choose to take a professional course, a minimum of two courses is required)

At the end of the exchange: obtain transcripts and credit notes for the corresponding courses to convert the credits earned in Spain into Chinese university credits.

Students in their fourth year can apply for postgraduate study at a Spanish university if they prefer.
