Details of the Program

Foundation Master Scholarship Program is based at Complutense University. Every year, only outstanding international students are offered a reserved place in a Masters degree program and a remarkable scholarship.

Before starting their Master’s studies, students of the Foundation Program need to apply for a Foundation Stage to strengthen their Spanish language and academic skills. Admission to the program is subject to a competitive interview, a written examination, and a material review. Once accepted by the Foundation Stage, you are chosen for a Master’s degree studies and a scholarship!

Complutense International Foundation Diploma

Total hours: 675 hours (575 hours intensive language + 100 hours specialized courses)

Total credits: 90 credits

Foundation Master Program Advantages

To recruit outstanding international students, the Faculty of Literature and the Faculty of Fine Arts at Complutense University offer a unique application pathway for students attending the Foundation Master Program.

Students approved by the program will be offered admission to an official Master at the Complutense University in advance.
The Foundation Stage starts every 10th of January and finishes the 22nd of July, with direct entrance to the Master’s Study in the same year. A smooth transition of courses is waiting!
All students participating in the program will receive a scholarship for their Master’s studies. The scholarship will be granted in the form of a reduction in tuition. For students of our program, the tuition fee for Master’s studies is around half of the original tuition fee.

Majors in the Faculty of Fine Arts

Admission requirements

  • A2 level in Spanish is required (the Foundation Stage will start with B1 level studies)
  • A full-time undergraduate degree and an accredited notarial certificate
  • A high degree of relevance to the undergraduate major
  • The program is also open to university students who are currently in their last year of study

Artistic and Creative Studies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art.

  • Undergraduates in architecture, visual communication, art history, aesthetics/philosophy and other arts and humanities disciplines: a portfolio and CV are required.

CULTURAL HERITAGE CONSERVATION

  • Undergraduate students in the major of cultural heritage conservation and restoration.

  • Undergraduate students in majors of Fine Arts (with an orientation related to restoration), Art History, Archaeology, Humanities, Experimental Sciences (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, etc.), Architecture, or Engineering.

  • Undergraduate students in majors of other unmentioned conservation and restoration-related disciplines.

ARTS EDUCATION FOR SOCIAL AND CULTURAL INSTITUTIONS

  • Undergraduate students in major of Fine Art, Art History, Art Education, Art Restoration, and other related disciplines would receive preference. Applicants in other majors with working experience in Fine Art will also be considered.
