The Faculty of Law of the UCM celebrates this October 4 its III Legal Employment Fair. Its students and graduates have the opportunity to learn first-hand, just by walking through the center’s main hall, the job or training offers of more than twenty institutions and companies, including the most prestigious law firms. Together with the one held in Informática in February, this fair marks a return to face-to-face activities, which, however, were able, as highlighted by Concepción García, Vice-Rector for Employability and Entrepreneurship, to remain active during the pandemic. “People are anxious for contact, to get their act together. The pandemic has been very hard and we are all looking forward to it; the students are eager and the offices are eager”, considers the Dean of Law, Ricardo Alonso.
As the dean and rector Joaquín Goyache, who visited the stands together first thing in the morning, coincide in pointing out, this fair consists not only in bringing law firms and companies closer to students, but also in showing and offering Complutense talent. “Firms come here to capture. We are the best Law School in the country, because the rankings say so and because it is so; we have a volume of students that makes us the largest university in the country, and the higher the volume, the greater the possibility of attracting more talent,” the dean proudly points out. “In the end – confirms the rector – the talent of the Complutense is always present. We bring the most important law firms here so that students can see first-hand what they have to offer and what they will find. But they come because they know that there is talent here”, concludes Goyache, who wants to highlight the work carried out by the dean and his team to place the Faculty among the most important in the world.
Vice Chancellor Concepción García explains that from the Vice Chancellor’s Office they support all the initiatives that start from the faculties to celebrate this type of sectoral employment forums, very attractive for the students of each center. In addition, as she points out, her intention since before the pandemic has been to recover the celebration of a great global forum for all degrees. “We were organizing it to have celebrated it in September 2020, but the pandemic prevented it. Despite this, we have managed to hold two virtual editions, in the months of March 2021 and this year, and next February, from 21 to 23, we will finally hold the global face-to-face forum, which, however, will also have a virtual version, which above all will allow graduates or students who are outside of Madrid to connect with the fair”, concludes the vice-rector.
