The teaching and learning facilities provided by the University of A Coruña to more than 17,000 students include 5,000 seats in its library and self-study hall, information and consulting services, as well as study skills, IT tools, public speaking, and employability.

Accommodation, food and transportation

The University of A Coruña has student accommodations on the A Coruña and Ferrol campuses, which are reasonably priced and well located. The university’s administrative and teaching institutions are located in the city center, and public transportation services are well developed. The university implements a special travel subsidy and meal subsidy program, and students can apply at the beginning of each academic year. In Coruña, the university cafeteria offers a variety of food and snacks at affordable prices. In Ferrol, the student canteen uses outsourcing operations, but the taste and price of the food are fully guaranteed.

Multicultural atmosphere

More and more foreign students appear in the campus of the University of A Coruña, which greatly enhances the diversity of campus cultural life. The Erasmus exchange program and bilateral agreements signed between UDC and universities on other continents ensure a stable flow of students in and out of the country. The University of A Coruña also provides additional support for students to participate in exchange programs in the form of foreign job placement scholarships and state grants co-financing. UDC not only has undergraduate courses in English/Spanish bilingual teaching, but also offers the possibility of cooperating with foreign universities to allow students to obtain double degrees. The University Language Center provides courses in English, French, German, Italian and Portuguese for students who wish to improve or bring their language skills to a professional level.

Sport and Health

Athletics, paddle tennis, soccer, Gaelic football, indoor soccer, cross training, volleyball, climbing, handball, basketball, fitboxing, rugby, taekwondo, spinning, swimming, dinghy and catamaran sailing, surfing, windsurfing, scuba diving and more – these are just a few of the activities offered by the Sports Office at UDC, where you can also find information about how to take part in internal leagues and national and regional inter-university championships. UDC Health Matters is an initiative aimed at promoting healthy hobbies and eating habits, psychosocial well-being, and educational development.

Wide range of future options

At the end of the Master's programme, students can choose to continue their studies with a third-year internship or stay in Spain for an official Master's degree. After the internship, students can return to China to work in a related field or obtain employment in Spain.

Language Center of University of A Coruña

The Language Center of the University of A Coruña is a dynamic institution in the university. The language center offers a variety of language courses every semester for Erasmus students and other non-Spanish native students and even the public to participate. The Spanish as a foreign language courses are designed for students who wish to start learning or improve their Spanish during their stay in Spain.

The courses of the language center adopt a small-class teaching system, and the number of students in each class is less than 15 students. In the language center, both traditional teaching methods and the latest audiovisual technology are used in teaching.

The independent admissions programme

Universities in some regions and provinces of Spain have now started to implement their own admissions policies, which means that both local and foreign students who wish to apply for undergraduate degrees in Spain no longer need high school entrance exam results and can be admitted at the university’ s discretion.

The University of La Coruña is one of the first public universities in Spain to have an independent admissions policy, and GEC is the official responsible authority for the admission and registration of all Chinese students.
