 Judgment of the III edition of the Awards «Universidad, Conocimiento y Agenda 2030»

April 04, 2022. The III edition of the “Universidad, Conocimiento y Agenda 2030” Awards for the best Final Degree Project (TFG) and Master’s Degree Project (TFM) of the 2020-2021 academic year, organized by the Crue Spanish Universities, the Carolina Foundation and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), has been decided.

The award in the TFG category goes to “Potential legal instruments of protection for displaced persons in contexts of disasters and climate change”, carried out by Ignacio Hierro, tutored by Professor Eva Desdentado and defended at the University of Alcalá.

In the TFM category: “The role of the circular economy in the fulfillment of Sustainable Development Goal 11: sustainable cities and communities”, by Sergio Molinillo, tutored by Professor Gemma Durán and defended at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.

Due to the quality of the finalists’ work, the organizing institutions have decided to award a runner-up prize in the TFG category to the work: “The effectiveness of aid in the Basque Country’s international development cooperation policy”, presented by Celia Munguia, tutored by Professor Marisa Ramos and defended at the Complutense University of Madrid.

According to the evaluation criteria of the call, the Evaluation Committee and the heads of the organizing institutions have praised the originality and innovation of the winning works, their technical basis and academic quality, and their contribution to the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda.

The winning students will receive a diploma signed by the management staff of the AECID, the Carolina Foundation and Crue Universidades Españolas. Their work will also be published under the seal of the three institutions.

Following the successful participation and impact of the three calls for entries, in which more than 2,800 candidatures were received, the AECID, the Carolina Foundation and Crue Universidades Españolas plan to launch the fourth edition of the ” Universidad, Conocimiento y Agenda 2030″ Awards in the last quarter of 2022.
